What is copywriting?
Copywriting is the craft of writing copy, the use of words to promote a person, business, opinion or idea. A good copywriter is a skilled wordsmith with a flair for marketing psychology.
Speaking bluntly, copy is designed to capture and hold the attention of a visitor, to lead that visitor through a process of education and indoctrination, then to direct him or her to perform a required action in a low stress environment. This may be to press the buy-now button, to enter name and email address into the opt-in form or to join a membership list or indeed to do any other thing that the site owner desired.
Copywriting – Fair Value
What is copywriting? Copywriting is the words that are used to promote or describe a product, service, or person either in hard copy, as in a newspaper or magazine, or on a website. Copywriting is used to advertise the benefits of the services described.
As in any field there is good copywriting and bad copywriting. Anyone with the ability to string two words together can profess to be a copywriter. However, there is more to the game of copywriting than just writing words. If the copywriter is not totally conversant with the subject matter a certain amount of research needs to be done. Then the results of this research have to be written in such a way that the writer will not be accused of plagiarism, the content is informative, is readable, grammatically correct, and advertises the client’s product or services effectively by using keywords properly without overusing them.
