White Paper

We will research and write an original White Paper 10-15 pages in length on your topic. Images and diagrams are charged extra.

A White Paper is a subtle sales document designed to provide the facts of the product in a non emotional manner.

I see the document as concise and factual (slightly dry) with a very mild sales effort. Rather than sell the product I need to define it, then increase the desire for the benefits accruing from owning or using the product. I prefer the following document structure:

• Front Page
• Table of Contents
• Introduction – the opening section covers the high-level issues and trends in the industry that you are involved with. It defines a problem and may also include recommendations or conclusions about the topic.
• High Level Solution – this describes the relevant solutions at a high-level. Arguments are supported with tables, charts, and graphics. All of these add weight to the argument and provide a contrast to the main text.
• Solution Details – this explains how the service works. This is the heart of the white paper. It provides very detailed descriptions of the proposed solution. I will use tables, charts, and graphics for this section, with cross-references to external supporting documents if required.
• Business benefits – this discusses the return on investments, usability, and adherence to standards. Customer quotes are always very helpful. It demonstrates that you are an authority in your field and can back it up with these endorsements.
• Summary – this closes the paper with a concise summary of the main points. Many readers will skip the entire document and read this section only. I need to summarize the main selling points about your solution here.
